THE PROGRAM

This music program was developed for grades 1 through 3 based on extensive research and consultation with experts in the field, and continues to be improved based on classroom experience.  It is a six week interactive program with 45-60 minute classes once a week.   Sessions are focused on introducing many different types and aspects of music in a way that is educational, fun and age-appropriate. 

 

The goal is to create an interest in and appreciation for music that will last a lifetime.  The first generation of the program was created in 2018 and has been presented to more than 3,000 students in seven schools throughout San Diego including Spreckels, Doyle, Miramar Ranch, Tierrasanta, Holmes, Clairemont Canyons and Cesar Chavez Elementary schools.  The second generation program was created in 2023 in response to requests for new content for those students who have already seen the original program.
